"We actually met, well the older you, for the first time when I was looking for Korra. So it's kind of funny that she'd be here now and I'd be lost in a place where the plants made everything hard to find."

She'd definately want to find Korra when she could, but right now she had the opportunity to learn more about Toph. If they became friends, maybe she could understand Lin better and why their family was so hard on each other.
