[Finnick is weak to Maruki touching him like that, as is he to wanting to please the older man. And, well, being touched by anyone and wanting to please everyone are weaknesses of his anyway. But these things aren't what ultimately make him decide to tell him.]
So, this isn't the thing I have to tell you, but... When we were in Seven, you helped me meet the "ghost" of a person from my world who I really missed. That ghost told me that all my loved ones lived and were okay after I died, and that everything worked out alright, in my world. It was the ultimate relief. You... Weren't exactly yourself when you did that, we were in this sort of simulation thing and you believed you were a warlock. You didn't remember me then, either. So I don't know if you always had that ability, or if it was just part of the simulation, and I have no idea if it was a real ghost or just an illusion, but it felt real. You still did me that kindness, and that lifted a weight off my chest for good. So... I generally think the more we know, the better, I guess. What-ifs are so crushing. So yeah, I'll tell.
[He takes a breath, trying to remember all of what Maruki told him.]
You said that in the future, in your world, you were going to fight Akira to the death. The Akira in Seven was from a future point in your timeline, so that's how you knew about it. You said that you would lose, and instead of killing you, Akira would spare you. Despite being spared, you alluded to losing the overall- whatever it was you were fighting about- but that you still wanted to go back to your world, and resume the timeline, and have the fight with that outcome.
[He shrugs, looking thoughtful.]
You refused to tell me what the fight was about, and I don't know why he decided to spare you. I also didn't understand why you wanted to go back, if things weren't going to end well. But... That's what I know.
[He presses lips together, looks at Maruki for a reaction.]
